One thing you can say about Monroe County, we can create a festival just for a reason to celebrate. Not only do we have the common bigger city festivals and County Fair, but almost every small village in the County has a festival ranging from celebrating frogs, gators, cranberries, butter, wood turtles and black squirrels, just to name a few.

Now there isn't any "gators" in Leon, but you sure can enjoy yourself at the Leon Gatorfest in Leon. Put your walking shoes on—you’ll be footing it along the stand still parade. A laundry basket softball tournament, food (including gator), reptile exhibit, arts and crafts, and music in this tiny community in August.
